The discussion about Engineers (thread 38866) got me thinking about IT people. (probably not a safe thing to do on a Friday afternoon)

I do have a lot to do with various types of IT people covering the whole gammut, seems to me that they may be even worse, dare I say worser, than engineers.

Does anyone else find this?

That show on ABC on Thursday night "The IT crowd" seems to hit it on the head pretty well.

I had to go back nad read thread 38866 to see what it was you were getting at. I believe IT people are worse than engineers. They live in a totally different space. Cyber space, now my daughter often says to me "Don't worry dad your just old" but what is cyber space?

Answer is, it is that place where emails go in between the sender and the recipient. But no one, not even IT gurus can tell me where it is.

The other thing that gets me about IT is how do you make a science out of something that just goes 010101010101..............010101.........010101

As for engineers, at least they live in the same space as the rest of us. Yes they look at it differently but it is the same space.

Finally from 38866 you ask if people of a certain mindset become engineers or if people become engineers and then gain that mindset. My brother was an engineer from a very young age, probably 2 or 3. He went to university and studied hard for years just to prove what we all ready knew.
