Hi fellow Forumites,
Has anyone had any experiance in removeing a Winguard Antenna from the roof of a van.We are haveing fairly heavy rain down here in the NW of Tassie at the moment and there is a slight leak around the antenna. Will pull it apart tomorrow if the weather is fine and would like some advice from someone who has taken one apart.Would like to know how they are sealed and what to expect.
Cheers,
Duke

Oh boy something I have recently done...yippeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Yes obviously you have to get onto the roof of your van but before you do on the inside remove the winding handle & direction thing...
Ok on the roof you will see a plate with several screws in it undo them and then carefully try & break the seal between the plate & the van roof...Very touchy take care not to put holes in the roof trying to lever it off. Then if you can apply more sealant after cleaning up the old stuff you can reassemble and hopefully the leak will have stopped. Other
places these can leak is the internal seal that does perish if this is gone then you will have to dismantle the whole thing & replace the O rings. Just take the dead seals to an automotive parts place & buy new ones....
Here you can download the instruction manual:

Thanks for the info Mr Faulty. I suspect it is the seals or Orings that are gone. With the antenna in the upright position it dosn't appear to leak, only when antenna is flat on the roof there seems to be a problem.
Tried the website in your response but don't know what serial number to look under for the manual.Could you please post what number you used.
