G/Day All, when I get the new prado I was going to put King Spring ,giving me about 40mill lift retaining the original shockys, with air bags in the rear.A mechanick friend looks after me with a carton usually the payment for services, with me supplying what is needed. He suggested peddars springs, which he gets at a good discounted price, my question is are they any good, who do peddars get there springs from.

Hi Friar,
I believe Kings supply Peddars to their specs, but from past experience I was not happy with peddars, I have had Lovells twice and have been happy with the result both times. Currently have lovells EHD s on the back which give a 25mm lift. They have an excellant website to go to and a quetionaire to fill in . Kings website didnot have a lot of info but a lot of people swear by them. The Lovells EHD are brilliant for towings. Yesterday I had 1000kgs on a hd single axle trailer and they were a huge improvement on the orinigal springs, no rocking horse efect at all goodluck

Friar,

If you are going to put raised springs on, you will need matching shockers with increased travel, otherwise your shockers will become your new bump stops and they wont like it... :-(((. You will get a gazillion replies as to what spring/shocks combinations are the best. FWIW I have HZJ105 and have King springs with the new Koni Raid 90's which are simply HUGE in comparison to just about anything else and I am very happy with the ride both laden and unladen.

Cheers,

Mark

If you mean Poly air type airbags, you probably will have to get 40mm spacers for them to pack into the 40mm gap created by the new longer springs. AFAIK they are off the shelf items.

Thanks to all that replied, as it happens I am going with the Lovells, which are the best price after making some enquires, their supplier in QLD also sells air bags, with spacer required for 40mm lift. Because I wont have weight constantly in vehicle am going with soft springs & air bags.
