Hi given the design of my pop up camper I can’t use the frame or rear bar to mount a holder for an antenna mast. I was going to make a fitting that would affix to the top of the camper in which I cant place the mast before I raise the roof, is their an existing fitting or should I look at making one keeping in mind it will be fitted against a panel and will need to be tightened from the face of it. In relation to the mast I have found some information on another
forum that suggests n extendable pool handle is a good inexpensive mast

Steve
We have a coromal wind up camper and I used 20mm pressure pipe (PVC) which I have used joining couplers to make it more transportable (can break down into three sections). To secure the unit to the van I have used three conduit clips made by clipsal, they use a mounting screw in there centre and the pipe just clips in the mounts and out again quite easily. I bought all the gear from bunnings all the fittings are PVC so no rust, pole is also easy to rotate when clipped in to adjust the reception.
Hope this helps

In the Amateur Radio world it's common to use a Squid Pole (also know as a Wog Pole in Vic - I didn't think Poles were Wogs!? :) for gaining an easy high point for an antenna - available from fishing shops.
