Has anyone been over the
Holland track in the past few days, what is its condition?
We are planning to go that way to Kalgoorlie this weekend and wondered if its rained much out there over the past few days. We will check with the local authorities/shire on Friday before we leave but was wondering if anyone has recent 1st hand knowledge./experience.

Completed the
Hyden to
Coolgardie section of the
Holland Track, Sunday 22nd and Monday 23rd October 2006, in a 2002 Prado diesel towing a camper trailer. The track was relatively easy. At no stage was 4wd engaged. There are a few sections where the track had been cut up during wet times. One just drove to the conditions. The track does close in at a couple of sections. However two Okas had travelled the track just prior to us and had taken out a few branches. A soft off roader accompanied us on the trip, and did not have any problems. The handbook "Explore the
Holland Track and
Cave Hill Woodlines", published by Weststate Publishers proved to be an excellent reference. On arrival at
Coolgardie we then travelled to Widgiemooltha on the hard top and spent two nights at
Cave Hill. If you have the time I suggest that you visit
Cave Hill. We were at
Cave Hill when the storms came through, however it did not have any bearing on the roads. I hope this is of some assistance to you.

HI Gary F
Do you mean the Holland Way or the
Holland Track?
Parts of the
Holland Track are very twisty and most likely unsuitable for OKA's or camper trailers for that matter

Now Willem
We in the west know where we travel...
Hyden to
Coolgardie is the
Holland track unless you take the Queen Victoria road (track) LOL..
OKA's are good things to take out along these tracks, as it allows less scratches to be applied to the troopy..
did the mapping work on the trip? (I know shorten trip :((( )

Hi Richard
I was just wondering. Although the
Holland Track isn't a hard drive the description sounded too easy....lol
I had some glitches with the mapping but have successfully sent it on to EO where hopefully it will be uploaded in the near future. At one stage my laptop had a mild coronary but I was able to load the specs manually after some deep thought(lol).
I think that my desk top may be too rigid and that the puter also gets a bit hot. Maybe I need a PDA....:-)
Cheers
