Sorry to repost this, still have not got someone to come along, someone must surely want to go, so ill try just once more.

I am chucking my job in soon (electrician) and going on a trip of a lifetime. Im 35 and still single and figure if im going to be single any longer, I might as well take advantage of it! Im moving out of my house, renting it out, gearing up and heading off. I will stop in towns on a temp basis for work for cash top ups but I intend to work no longer than a quarter of the total time of the trip, even less if I can afford it. I have a Landcruiser Troop carrier hi top set up with fridge, solar power, dual batterys dual diesel tanks, double bed in the roof, and single on the bottom, but also carry a tent if my companion chooses to sleep outside, but from what I hear, thats not advisable in croc country! I surf, fish and explore everything. Im also taking a 12foot tinnie to further explore.

Last photo taken on the last fraser trip.

Im an easy going intellegent guy that gets along with almost anyone, and one of the things that im really looking forward on this trip is all the great people im going to meet. I love camp oven cooking, talking around a fire and having a few drinks.
Being a single guy, of course I would really love to meet a female companion to share this trip with, who will love to enjoy the outdoors as much as me, but failing that a male travel mate similar to me would be good also.
So does anyone want to come with me? at least part of the way? I would like to hope the person who comes with me will help with some of the fuel costs, or catch more fish than me:)

more about me, at LongJ at rsvp

If you're open-minded you could put up some ads in your local backpacker establishments.

Go have a pint with the punters and work out who's the most likely to be good company.

Cheers
Andrew.

I wouldn't worry even if you end up starting off on your own - you'll meet heaps of people along the way and we've found on our past travels that you usually run into people (particularly around the backpacker areas) looking for a lift on the next leg of their journey. I'm sure you'll find some people want to join you on parts of your trip. You'll have a great time - good luck!

Longjohn,

I think it is timely to reflect upon the recent incident in Exmouth, WA. which resulted in the death of a man who picked up a younger couple back down the track and it would appear had a nasty falling out.
Choose travelling companions wisely. I would much prefer my own independence until I was confident my partner was compatible. Now having said that my wife and I still have t'doos and we camp away quite a lot but we never reach the killing each other point!

Good luck

I traveled for a year & mostly bush camps, I slept easy even 30 km from Abroginal settlements, I found most people good. Nothing stolen.

You should find more people on the road that will travel with you, stay at back packers you should meet like minded folks.
enjoy
