Have had to replace the side panels in the rear of the troopy due to articles not secured punching holes ,cracking the cardboard sides. Have replaced it with 3mm mdf and covered it in marine carpet . The old retainers either cracked or had already been broken . Does anyone know where I can get some (the ones from super cheap in the blister packs are too small in diameter, the shank dia) They need to have the same large head and fit a 8mm hole and need to be about 20mm long. Live in
Dampier WA so would need to buy over net or phone and have delivered. Thanks for any info.

Try a panel
shop, they usually have a big selection.

I know the sort you mean. I've bought them as spare parts from Toyota. Casper

cooper,
Just telephone your closest Tojo dealer. I am in the process of replacing all the side panels in the back of the Troopy and the clips are readily available, two colours black n brown.
Cheers
Michael

When I replaced my side panels I used nutserts and can then just screw bolts in.
On the previous one I fitted 1/4" (3/4" long I think) bolts with a flat nut, thread sticking towards centre of the vehicle, put the panels on and fitted acorn nuts to hold them. Very cheap and easily removed.
Cut access holes in the new panels and you can put a huge amount of stuff in the side panels especially in front of the rear
wheels. I had a 50l
water bladder in the LHS and 20l of oil on the RHS, spares and
tools in the rear.

Agree with others. Go to Toyota spare parts. I had to replace at least half of the retainers on the flairs semi-recently. Had to get 4 different types, front and back. Toyo had these complex drawings and selection to specifically find the right ones.
