Over the last 2 years and 30,000km, we have had 3 blow outs on 750-16LT Bridgestone Desert Duellers AT's on our Troopy. Today, we found a 4th with a large bulge in the sidewall. 4 tyres in 30,000km, all around half worn when they went - b****r.
Off to replace the last 2 Bridgestones tomorrow with Goodyear's and hope that we get a better run out of them. Will also be seeing the Bridgestone man over the next couple of days with the last of the dud's.

Your lucky you didn't buy Dunlop Grandtrek AT. Made the mistake of buying them. Bald in a little over 30,000 kms.
Had Desert Duellers on the vehicle before. Got 60,000 kms out of them. I didn't have any blow outs.

I started with Banglop Grandflat AT2s on the Cruiser, but rapidly changed to Dueller AT as they blew out. Not happy with the Bridgestones either as they are wearing out very fast, but better than the awful Cooper STTs I tried briefly before I threw them in the dump in disgust. Next to try will be Goodyears - fourth time lucky I hope!!
Cheers

Hopeless if towing heavy wieghts I had 3 of
mine blow out on my last trip the side walls just blow out and 2 of them where on tared roads these two wher less than half of the tred used.
I had to by 5 new tyres in Clairmont. I put cooper tyres on as they where the only tyre they had 5 of and cost me $1700 for the 5 tyres and what i estermated to be $2500 for the damage to the car from the blown out Bridgestones ended up being over $4000.
Not Happy Your not alone.

hmmm,
the 16s must be a little weeker than my 15inch 604v's. 50000 km + and no
sign of stopping, approx 30% wear, one small nick in the side wall.
Out of interest, what is the ply rating of the AT's?
cheers

Same here - my 31 10R 15 604 have done nearly the same distance, both on and off road, towing heavy trailers and a campertrailer and I have never had a problem with them until the other day when I discovered a leaky valve :-(
I make I run the correct tyre pressure etc.
I am going to have to replace them shortly and I stick with the 604s.

Thanks for the info. Out of curiosity, anyone running Simex tyres?. I'll need to
replace my set of rubber within the next 6 months. They are certainly not expensive,
but it seems in the tyre business that you don't always get what you pay for.
cheers

Steve,
As you're running split rims, what brand tubes do you have? I'm guessing they are Korean garbage.
I stopped using split rims when it became too hard to get decent tubes.
