Can someone double check these for me as I did a highway run tonight, give me your results in L/100k
131.5 klm travelled, fuel used 12.66 litres. Took a run up to the highlands to pick up some side steps.

9.63 L/100km approx. Km's divided by litres = x Then 100 divided by x

Mine is similar but takes one step less for same result.
Litres divided by kms X 100.
so
12.66 divided by 131.5 X 100 = 9.63 (lt/100km)
Cheers,
Mark.

litres / (km/100)
so
12.66 / (131.5 / 100) =9.6
Is quicker cause the part in brackets is easy; just move decimal point 2
places. Then you divide 12.66 by 1.31, which you can do in your head. Much easier than dividing 12.66 by 131.5.....
Much easier to do on the run ;-)

9.62lt/100km
10.38km/lt which is about 28mpg. Pretty good in any language for a Patrol (unless it's a 3lt then that's normal I think)
Cheers, Trevor.

Just checked and see you are in a 4.2.....even more impressive fuel figures. I am up around 14.5lt/100km but just the other day recorded my best yet of 13.5lt/100km.

Yeah, looks pretty good, I'm normally about 15.4L/100 or 6.5Ks/Litre from my 4.2(no turbo)

Hi Steve, kms were speedo recorded klms, with roof racks on and tyres are 265/75. 16 " not bad for the non turbo I suppose, she lacked power on the hills though!!

Hi again Uncle, very impessive, the photos look like you were running 33in tyers, which would have put your speedo out. Don't change your driving habits.

Uncle
Works out to 9.63 ltrs/100 kms. Over such a short run you will not get accurate results. Keep a log and you will get an accurate result
Some people state their fuel usage in kms/ltr. The recognised method is ltrs/100kms and by using an unrecognised method it only confuses the issue.

I agree Tjilpi. Over a short run, a difference of 1 litre when filling up could mean a 9.63l/100km economy or a 10.38l/100km (which is still great). Comes down to the couple of litres you can fit in the filler neck of the
tank or the different sensitivities of the fuel stop mechanisms of pumps.
