Purchase a battery carrier from the 4x4 shop and mount it on the firewall , left hand side. Fits in nicely parallel to firewall. Only a short distance to main battery for cable length. Pirahna controller can be mounted on firewall also, high as you can to get away from water. Power for controller can be sourced from wiper motor. Hope this helps. I have thad this set up in 3 Pajs so far.

Depends which engine, 3.0l, 3.5l petrol or 2.5l diesel.

The general rule is back of the engine bay at the passenger side, against the fire wall.

Depending on engine and options such as cruise control as to what will fit.
I have a n70ZZ 2nd battery in that position, but it is a tight fit with the 2.8l diesel.
Some people move the cruise control.

Suggest you talk to a few 4wd shops, some web sites have pictures.

This was one of the first additions i done when i purchased my 95 3Lt paj, i went with the pirahana system with the dual battery management system.
The battery was fitted along the the firewall behind the cranking battery and the management system next to it nice and high to keep as dry as possible.
One extra requirement was to set up a socket in the internal rear skin near the rear speaker(i'm not sure if yours has the 4 speaker system) so i can run my fridge - make sure the wiring is at least 6mm (thicker than standard wiring).
So now my CB's are wired direct to the second battery, leaving the main battery for cranking only.

If you are a handy man, they are very easy to install and set up. There is no need to shift the cruise control. The system that I purchased uses existing bolt holes, with the only drilling is the 2 securing bolts on top of the firewall sill. My system has been used in 3 Pajeros.

One word of advise. If it is a petrol motor, make a small shield for the side of the frame. I used thin 3mm aluminimum for a base and side shield on a Petrol Pajero. I could not work out why the end 2 cells were always using liquid. It was the heat from the Exhaust. After making up the shield and base plate, no more problems.

If it is a diesel, there are no heat problems at all.
