Hi Uncle Phil,

Keep an eye out for an EO stocker on a silver Discovery 1 with Qld plates (also has 'Thermoguard' on the spare wheel cover, strangely enough).

We're having a great time in Tassie, fantastic scenery and plenty of good 4WD tracks. But we could really have done without the SNOW in Bicheno the other day!

Come and say G'day if you spot us.

Hi Ian - We would have loved to have it snow when we were there earlier in the year. My husband has never seen snow (except fro the air crossing the Alps). It is always possible in Tassie. It snowed in Tasmania and in the Victorian high country within a few days of us getting back on the mainland.

My younger daughter spent a year in Tas, much of it as ferry operator at Corinna. When it snowed at Cradle Mountain, she and her boyfriend went up and found the top car park in deep snow. They took photos of themselves building a snow man and having snow ball fights. It was December.

It rained when we were at Bicheno, and the hills were all hidden in mist. Later on in the trip, when it was quite fine inland, we ventured to the east coast again, and found the Douglas Aspley NP still covered in mists. Another caravaner we kept meeting took the trip to St Mary's via the Elephant and St Mary's passes, and saw very little - all in mist too.

Hi Mrs Hen,

The "snow at the beach in October" the other day was certianly something to see - it's the gale force winds and very cold rain that come with it that wasn't so enjoyable!

Yesterday here (still in Bicheno) was as you describe - low cloud, mist and very light drizzle. Today it's warm, brilliant sunshine and not a cloud in the sky - you just can't pick it down here.

As I recall, you offered to proof read my articles after my first one on Diesels earlier this year. Aint' I bean lerned ta talk and spel propa? If your offer still stands, send me an email because I'm close to finishing another article. Thanks.
Ian

Hi Ian
Hope the weather comes right for you. As we say down here in Tassie
( If you don't like the weather, come back in five minutes).
It has been twenty years since there has been snow down to those level on the east coast. So hopefully it will be a while before the next time.
I am in the south of the state this weekend, (weekend off) but will be back up the coast on Monday, so will keep a lookout for you then.

Cheers Uncle Phil
