resetting springs

Dunno about Hilux, but I had the leaf springs on my MQ reset, but they sagged again shortly after.

Ended up putting a new set on, made a huge difference to the vehicle, especially with decent shockies.

Had an 86 hilux, 2 front reset and extra leaf added. Sagged again soon after. I would say get new aftermarket ones if you can.

troy, Having had an MQ some years ago and going the reset/new leaf route and finding the reset leaves to be way too stiff and unforgiving, I went with the fitting of auxillary coils springs. These used the original leaves as locators and the coils as the main springs. The ride was sooooo much better. The cost was about the same as new leaves, but I also fitted koni shocks as well. Would I fit konis again, no way, they didn't handle the CSR at all, broken mounts and buggered seals etc.

There is a mob in Qld and one in Victoria that fit the coils. Just another view on the issue, hope it helps. John

As Jiarna said in the reply the reset didn't last long,I replaced my troopcarrier springs with OME with Shockies and it made the car feel and handle 200% better

Where are you,
I had mine reset by Allset Springs 4 years ago and our vehicle is loaded to GVM permanetly and no sagging. They are on the sunshine coast. I'd look at the new dakar ARB springs if doing it again as they are very well priced.
