For anyone thats interested, the Gunshot crossing now has a easy route right next to the hard stuff courtesy of Telstra. Heading north or south at Gunshot is almost 2wd at the moment.

just the same it's worth going down to the creek to see the dedicated trying to get up the bank. We got some good footage of a vehicle on a winch being pulled up while the driver kept gunning the motor and spraying mud every where despite the fact that the winch was doing the job.

Then we turned back and took the easy route.

Enjoyed your site, brought back so many memories of our trip in 1992. We just looked at the Gunshot as having the trailer and the boat on top of the car and the fact that it was a lot steeper that year made it the sensible thing to do. The flight over the tip gave a different perspective of the area. The idea of setting your pictures to music makes me want to dig the photos from WA last year out and do the same, just have to find the time.

We had planned on a fishing charter but the weather was a bit blowy so we opted for helo flight , glad we did as it was great. I think the pilot thought he was still mustering catle but thats what happens when you egg them on. well worth it though and would recommend it to everyone. Still cheaper than a fishing charter.

Bugger! I got read the riot act last year when we were up there for even thinking about trying it, & I swore then, that when we go back next year that I'll have a go regardless.
If there is an easy way out I'll be in deep doo doo if I still have a go at the hard way!!
Nights are warm, so I can sleep alone if I have to. : )>
