Had a TJM bullbar fitted today. The bar has the additional set of blinkers/parkers as standard. When I now select right or left blinker, the trailer blinkers indication light on the Navara D40 dash, now come on? I take it that these additional lights are wired in parallel with the vehicles standard fit blinkers/parkers.
I remember reading of this problem in a
forum on a previous occasion and there was a simple fix.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Macca,
Can't help you with your problem mate, but knowing you from the 'other'
forum, you may be able to offer some assistance on thread 39193.
Couldn't TJM solve the problem for you ?

Pezza,
This is with the vehicle not the TJM bull bar.
It must work on resistance in the circuit. With the extra lights working the vehicle thinks that there is a trailer wired up to the circuit.

Hi Macca,
No, you wouldn't know me, but as I am a regular lurker for a couple of years on the caravaners
forum I have read a lot of what you have written over there, hence "knowing you", also I thought YOU may be able to offer 'djrziggy' some assistance on thread 39191 as I thought you may have some knowledge in the area he was requiring assistance in.
Cheers

Macca,
Land Rover Discovery have the same thing. If the trailer lights do not work the lights will not flash.
You try and lower the resistance by putting LED globs instead of the standard globs that the TJM bar have.

This is easily fixed by using a relays to run the extra blinkers and should have been done by TJM.

I had an arb bullbar fitted to my navara (D40) and had the same problem but took it back to arb and they fitted lower wattage globes in the new blinkers, problem solved.

Simiilar problem here with an ARB bullbar on a D40. Also offered low wattage bulbs as a solution but they look a bit like candles in daylight to me so I just put up with it.
My ARB
shop claims to know nothing about relays etc. and in fact have been advised by Nissan to leave as it is.
At the end of the day though I am not sure I need a flashing light to tell me if I am towing my van or not!!

I've fitted several genuine D40 bullbars and the wiring kit contains two relays for the bullbar lights, sounds like these may not have been fitted on your bar.

When Nissan fitted
mine they hooked up the bullbar lights and disconnected the original indicators :( when I told them that was not acceptable they did it properly :) took about 30 minutes to fix and now they all work fine together.
cheers
