Hello all,i am new here so forgive me if i am a bit off topic, mostly i just wanted to point out that the Coleman hot water system can opperate from any battery powered water pump, not just the Coleman unit, there is a 6v battery shower available that has a 6volt D cell battery box as well as a 12 volt plug transformer that delivers 6v at 2 amps to the pump,at that power spec the pump delivers more preasure to the Coleman system than if you were useing the mains water regulator, useing a 20 L water bottle this gives a hell of a good shower at great preasure, about 15 min,as you guys say,buy the Coleman shower head just to get the hose fittings and apply them to the " Turbo Shower " portable shower kit,one of those vehicle starter power tanks for jump starting does well as a 12 volt power supply for this setup, the only down side i think is that this setup makes the Coleman use a little more gas,but you get clean so who cares HA HA .
Cheers Chris.

Hi Chris - Your point is worth considering.
At the flow rate of the pump/battery supplied, the heater can raise the temp far above what humans can stand - in fact almost hot enough for a cup of coffee.
A faster flow rate may give better control of heat.
The trade off - the unit is less portable (needing extra cables/battery or pump), and possibly greater water usage.
Worth tucking in the back of the memory banks.
Where did you see the 6V unit, and what price?...............Keith

Hello Keith,
the " Turbow Shower " kit is available from Ranger Camping stores, not sure if they are nation wide, anyhow the set is orange in colour and it's the only one i have seen with the 12 volt plug transformer that delivers the 6 v at 2 amps,it must be available from many Camping equipment outlets, happy hunting Keith.
Cheers Chris

best solution found that works for us is to heat water through the Coleman into 20L bucket to 34c then use the bucket of hot water to pump through normal caravan 12v pressure pump with garden shutoff nozzle. find gives best shower with minimum water use.

Disagree,

We find that the the flow from the Coleman is superb as it is. It is slow, but with a a better shower head fitted it gives an excellent, hot shower with minimal water usage.

Great Unit.

Hello Jimbo,
i used to feel the same way about the Coleman pump and water flow for showering,it was quite ok with a different shower head as you say, but then steadily as 2 years went by it became a bit too slow at pushing water soo far up hill untill mine just used to cavitate and not pump at all,got hold of a new pump under the great Cloeman warrenty but decided not to use the new pump for showers, thats what made me look around for a different pump idea just for showering and soo far my best set up has been that Turbow Shower kit,but i think i am still on a big learning cuve on the whole Coleman shower idea,it's all good.
Cheers Chris
