Just sitting in the kitchen yakk'n to the missus while she knocks up dinner and suddenly occurred to me that every microwave oven I have ever seen has a right to left opening door. Does anyone know of a left to right opener ? [just one of those little things that eats away at you]............regards, nissnut.

Only one way to find out, get inside, close the door, and see if your are in the dark.

If the light goes out then the bulb will get cold. If it stays on then the bulb stays hot. So,...turn off the power, open the door and ouch the bulb if cold then it wqas off when the door was closed. Simple eh!

I reckon you could put your digital camera in the fridge and set it to the 10 second auto timer and then shut the door.

If the picture comes out black then the light was probably off.

If you get a picture of a carton of milk then either the light stays on or you forgot to turn the flash off on the camera!

Too easy

maybe holding the camera from the wrong end.
Think most microwaves are this way because most people are right handed.

The crappy one at work opens left to right. I'm even going to treat it with more respect now I know its a rare species.

I reckon those left to right ones must be from the northern hemisphere.
could be a similar phenomena to the way water goes down the plug hole the opposite way than they kiss the opposite way (we tilt our heads left instead of right) in their cars to apparently.......
