Its been done in Aus already, maybe not the 06 model but something close (04-05?) In one of the 4WD rags a couple of months ago.

Ray,

Mate, that looks awesome. I guess it makes you jealous? One serious play truck that looks really set up for some fun. Hard to tell of the number plates but do you know where this is, ie country? Always been a Luxy fan, had two previously....Great trucks.....

Yes it would be nice to have for weekend fun that's for sure.

I think it's the Philippines.

The T on the back suggests Thailand I think.

T ?..may stand forTeabag?:)

Also out of curiosity at what point of modification does it change from being a Hilux to being a Mongrel ( I assume a Mongrel with some capabilities) ...the external body is Hilux...what is the rest...mostly not Hilux?

All hilux apart from the suspension underneath. Whatever, I'd lke one and a blonde in hotpants for the passenger seat.

Thought "suspension" was just springs/shocks...dont forget diffs and wheels - cant tell from picture but would they be using standard gearbox and motor? seats, stereo steering wheel? floor mats:)...Id like one too ..if I got it for free. Brunettes are better (though slightly more expensive).

Looks like the Middle East, but I did hear a while back about an 05/06 'Lux in NSW that has had similar treatment (to the suspension at least). Apparantly cost about $8,000 for the conversion according to the story I heard.

Great if money is no barrier. Unfortunately that doesn't apply to me.

“Great if money is no barrier. Unfortunately that doesn't apply to me.”

And if you don’t have the Australian government’s showering you with laws specifically Auto modifications then it would all be sweet.

"Looks like the Middle East"

Looks like climate change is having a positive effect in some areas - sand dunes covered in tropical rainforest - you beauty:)..(unless you're into sand boarding)

Exploder, It can be done easily. The Governments even have a "modification code" for it within the roadworthy regulations when you get your vehicle engineered (DEFINITELY know Vic does, as does QLD...).

The numberplate is Thailand and the Hilux is built there just near the new Bangkok Airport. What a machine!!!

$3500 or so for the labour + front diff of your choice (T or N), $1000 for the engineering .

It's a 2005 model as they have a different tub, as you can see the tail gate has a single handle in the middle the 2oo6 model has two and has external tie downs that the 05 does not. Nice truck.

Are you talking about the Hilux Virgo in Thailand or the Oz Hilux.
