Tevion brand GPS Navigator on sale next from next thursday for $399.... All the usual inclusions including spare stylus, earphones, 12 & 240 volt chargers, Huge screen, 2006 Aus wide maps with 90% guaranteed coverage.
Apart from having an Aldi manager as a mate I have no connection but I do own some Tevion branded E gear (love these modern terms, E means electronic) and it seems to perform as specified. Aldi also offer a no quibbles warranty on all their goods. I bet I know what is going to happen to these though, some other retailer is going to buy them @$399 and retail them @$599 though if Aldi ever found any one other than Aldi selling their brands ther would be an immediate legal challenge as happened when K mart mysteriously started selling Aldi Porta Potties....

Their specials are that good you have to get in quick.
This week they had a garden water pump for $99 and sold out within 10 minutes at 3 Gold Coast stores. Must be good value.

Cheers Dave

Seems to get a reasonable review. I suspect that this version may be a little better as we don't use the Radio system that they use in Europe & it will rely soley on GPS...
At this price it may be an interesting Adjunk to my touring kit....

Best trick here is to "befriend" an Aldi store manager & get them to put any items you want aside for you.....Though I never said that they would do that for "mates" did I!!!!

Hi...

It's a Medion brand GoPal PNA510 GPS unit which is just as good, in my experience, as Tevion branded product.

Also... map coverage is advertised as "99% of the area".

Jason.

Sorry for repeating previous comments... theres no edit capability on this forum.

After further investigation... It's a GoPal PNA500 on offer by Aldi.

The PNA510 has a Traffic Message Channel (TMC) that alerts you to traffic jams via free FM radio reception. Not sure if this service is available in Australia yet.

The PNA515 has TMC plus Bluetooth capability for your phone.

I won't be standing in front of Aldi in the morning.... Just don't want to be trampled in the rush.....
to answer the question re traffic conditions via radio broadcast: that service does not operate in Oz, as I recall an enteprenuer was going to start it but government regulations & red tape changed his mind....
