Hi Everyone,
My son has a late model Jeep Wrangler and it is an absolute bugger to fuel up.
It constantly cuts off while filling and from what he has found out it is a common problem with the Wrangler.
Does anyone out there know of a fix or workaround to the problem.
Thanks for your help.

Mate has one doesnt have that problem at all, his is a 4L hard top. Have you checked the breather pipe from the
tank make sure its not kinked some where, also I find with our commodore I open cap and wate about 30 seconds especially if its sitting on empty (common thing after my wifes been driving it) as it takes that long for the pressure to relieve its self other wise If I just whack the pump in and open it flat knackers will keep cutting out on me but thats normally only for a few seconds anyway. Regards Steve M

Brian, sorry about the follow up but my putor don't seem to like replies lately. In regards to you Q, my F truck has done it since i bought it,i am now getting the hang of it.It used to do click about 20/30 times before it would work that was with the bigger nozzle (diesel) trie th smaller one it took about half as many clicks, then one day i thought i would try bigger one again three clicks & whoa shock, but now that is all it take usually.I was paying for fuel one time recently & looking out the
shop window i noticed a fellow in a new H/lux & he was having the same problem, I walked over to him on my way out told him (with a smil on my face) that i thought i was alone with this problem & that it was good to find i am not.
Tell him to wiggle the hose around from side to side & to pull trigger sloooowly it will catch & when it does pull trigger all the way & is a ok then.
Cheer's Bob.

Brian, just reading Bobs reply reminds me a mate of
mine had a Cherokee and had to make sure he filled up at a diesel pump with a small nozzle otherwise he had the blowback problem too.

When filling my Navara, I have to fill really slow, as it clicks off a lot.
If I want a faster fill I simply turn the fuel nozzle handle about 45 degrees and PRESTO , it will let me fill at a good rate,,
Try that, or try lifting the back of the handle, a little ,, it all works in different ways
Cheers Mate

It's all to do with the way you hold your mouth and only use your "trigger" finger (The evil one) Strike a balance between the two..Most important..Don't fill when in a hurry.!MPG:6!
