Hi all, in case you have'nt done so, could I suggest you pick up a copy at your nearest newsagent. Comes with a free dvd, good bit of 4wding and some bluddy good laughs. Left me itching to get out there and have a play in the ol' girl. nissnut

Why should we? do you work there??? (at least be honest and declare any personal interests held in the magazine. Wouldn't want to be seen "advertising" on this
forum...)
Had a look today (someone had thoughtfully opened the plastic cover on a copy in "Borders"), seems like more of the same.
If they want to improve their sales, they should stop bundling the mag up with so much rubbish bin filler and plastic wrapping it. I, like many other people, like to have a quick look through the magazine briefly BEFORE I decide if I will buy it. If you plastic wrap with the intention of denying people this ability then more often than not there are better things to do with $9

Geez Gary! Did we get up on the wrong side of
the rock this morning! : )>
I subscribe to the afore mentioned mag, & yes it is a good read. The DVDs these guys produce are usually a pretty good laugh, with a few good hints thrown in, & no I don't work for them!!
I suppose that you try all the other plastic wrapped mags to see if "some one" opened them so that you can have a look before you buy them!
I've bought all the 4WD mags over the years & found the that one gives the best value, so that's why I subscribe.

No Gary, dont work for them, just as Rock Crawler suggested, a good mag and an interesting dvd. I paint houses for a crust, not sure what your occupation is but its obviously very stressful.........maybe a Prozac or two might help. hehehe..nissnut.

Why should I have to buy a magazine that someone else has stolen a read for nothing? Plastic wrap is a good idea.

i think you did get out of the wrong side of the bed also. Had a look at the dvd the other day and had a laugh. To me it just sounded like Nissnut wanted to spread the word on a free dvd that had some laughs.
Ill have a chat to the editor and ask him for some more write up on soft roaders , this might get you to buy one lol

Struth!!
So much negativity and angst over a magazine GiO???
There are more important things in life than getting all antsy over a mag....I've read ALL the 4WD mags over a number of years and IMHO none of 'em really cut the mustard, but....
....I'm not making a song and dance over 'em. If someone like nissnut's found something interesting in a mag,
well good on 'im!!
"Settle Gretel"!!
Cheers
Red

Picked up a large hand full of old dated 4x4 mags from a 4x4
shop a few months back for free.
Even though it was free , i was really disapointed in the mags as there is more advertisements than there is usefull 4x4 stories or tips. for this reason i wont buy these mags .

they charge more for em some of the mags i have looked at have far less adds (not 4bymags) but cost more. I dont really care about how many adds they have coz I just dont read em I have however found in a lot of cases the content is becoming far less interesting to me with very few interesting trips being coveredand more comp and modified content whereas i am more interested in trips and touring.
My biggest beef is them putting an old mag in each time. Much as i might complain i still buy every copy so it makes a fair bit of extra rubbish

I used to subscribe to the above magazine when i was first getting started in 4wding. They provided me with some good advice early on. But now there are too many stories based on sponsors. They write supposed articles saying how good a product is and the next page is a massive advert on that same product! May as
well call it ARB monthly. I lost interest. I haven't counted how much product placement there is but it's a lot.
They preach tread lightly but then always seem to find the biggest bog hole to drive through on every track they go on. We don't want to damage tracks, so they can stay open.
But if you've found somethiing good nissnut then goodonya.

Barnesy, yeah the constant sponsor plugging does give me the irrits' occasionally, but their all guilty of that.
If Roothy drank something instead of green slime then I'd for him as PM. : )>
