The user manual says nothing about this?

About as much as Sydney harbour.. Its only the intercooler in there not the air intake.. The intercooler is a radiator for cooling gasses before going back in.

The intercooler or bonnet scoop, is nothing to do with air INTO the motor, its cooling the exhaust gasses. This is how its been explained to me.

www.are.com.au for info on intercoolers.

small correction, I think you will find the intercooler cools the air intake not the exhaust gas, this will give you cooler exhaust temps. It works as a radiator to cool the intake air
