Hi all,
Can any one tell me where I could purchase some new door rubbers for my 60 series cruiser or is this impossible and will I be damned to exhaust smell and wet floors forever.

Clarkie, I doubt if you could buy new genuine ones. If you can I would go and see a money launderer, sorry lender first.
I was having a look through ebay car parts the other night and there are a few wreckers with parts for 60 series if you follow a few links in there, e.g. 'buy now' parts etc.
I think that may be the only option.
I have a 60 series, hence the interest to see what parts were around.

Thanks for that suggestion Bobby, I don't need anything at the moment, but didn't think of looking at their site.
I will bookmark that now.

Don't confine your search to just local sources, there are big cruiser associations overseas and some models were made in South America long after production had ceased in this part of the world.
I'd also ask at your friendly Toyota dealer as you may be surprised (either way) at both availability and price.

Clark Rubber sell generic rubber strips in various styles and sizes and you should find something that suits. I had an FJ62 that had exhaust fumes coming in and I fitted an oversize rear door rubber. I also had to seal up the rear vents and found that the electrical plugs leading into the rear of the vehicle were worn. The rubber seal located on the petrol filler pipe where it enters the rear quater panel was also buggered and and this can let fumes in, I used silicone for this. I found that with the rear vents covered up air blows out of any non-sealing areas on the door seals when the fan is on and this helped reduce dust ingress.
Cheers, Dave

thats something to think about davo,i was gonna take samples of my rear door rubbers to clarke rubber to make sure its the same size, but i seen fj40 or 45 vent window rubbers at the clarke
shop in
bendigo,so im pretty sure they should have door seals etc for seperate models also, might ring them next week as all
mine need doing,i reckon what they sell would be the same as the rare spares stuff.

The guys at the
Canberra shop were pretty good, just took the car along and they grabbed some samples out to check what size seal would fit and then they just cut the lengths required. The best thing was that they have oversize rubbers which can really help on an older vehicle.

Don Kyatt shops have the parts for old LandCruisers - I'm pretty sure they do door rubbers.
