My parents are at Ceduna and are going to cross the Nullarbor.

Any pointers on where to stay and where to avoid staying would be greatly appreciated.

They are doing 400k-600k per day and have no caravan etc.

From Ceduna I was looking at Kimba 339k or Eucla 497k

Thanks

mchenry

Kimba is in the wrong direction.

There is accommodation at all of the Roadhouses along the way except for Yalata which has closed down.

There is good accommodation at Fraser Range Station which is close to Norseman.

Cheers

Yep, they'll only need Kimba if they are backing up for a run-up LOL

Eucla is good, then Madura pass roadhouse/Motel/ caravan park. Next stops after that Norsman, Kalgoorlie, Southern Cross or Merredin then Perth.,,, Regards Nav.

Can't see why not - it does get windy and rain a bit, and you can listen to the trucks all night.

Yeh, I do it every time (well, tent, anyway). There are some wayside stops on the way where there are pit toilets and a rainwater tank, but don't rely on either. If there are plenty of people stopped there you should be pretty safe. Otherwise, if you want to get well of the road, take one of the access roads to the many (mostly unused) microwave towers and find a spot there. This gets you well away from the noise of trucks.
Unfortunately, last time I stayed at a wayside stop some idiot European tourists in a Kombi were playing their music well into the night. They did apologise and stop the music when asked to, tho.

We stayed in a motel room at Mundrabilla 12 months ago - quite acceptable and well priced. Good feed at the roadhouse too. And its got the cheapest fuel for that part of the highway.

Eucla or Mundrabilla for cheapest fuel, stay away from the other places.
We "swagged" it in a camper in Sept, west to east. Plenty of raodside stops and far enough away from the road to get good sleep. While we were a bit west we felt safe enough it was only the esat end that we baulked at and went into Fowlers Bay instead of a roadside stop.
Plenty of firewood.
Then Fraser Range is a must we reckon.

Should have added, Kiralee Rockhole in Yellowstone Nature Res is great, between Coolgardie and Southern Cross.
