Can anyone out there confirm one way or another whether there is a swimming pool at the Angorichina village in the Flinders.

Our club has a planned trip there in Easter '07 and has a meeting of the intended party coming up to discuss travel details.

Just wondering whether such a facility exists at the village.

I know I could have raised the question directly with the village management but I thought I would ask viewers of this forum.

Cheers! GU (now a Navara owner)

GU, there is a rockpool in the creek down the bottom of the gully not far from the village.
Don't plan on doing a few laps or any diving practice though.
I have had a feed of yabbies out of there though.
Don't count on there being much water there though due to the drought, and take some food, don't count on the yabbies.
I have been there a few times and only had yabbies once.

I can confirm that there is not a swimming pool at Angorichina any time I have been there including in July.

There is a pool at the Blinman Pub which the locals seems to use with impunity, so I guess it is open somehow or other. It is quasi in-doors.

There are also the Blinman Pools which are quite a long walk (2+ hours) from Angorichina, but the track leaves Angorichina (nicely sign-posted), and basically follows the gorge.

In July this year it was pretty dry and nothing really worthy of swimming in.

I seem to recall that Dave is pumping his water from an acquifer rather than the creek at present it being so dry.

But, all that aside, Angorichina is the best place in my view, to stay up that way. Great people and nicely central to a lot of stuff.

Highly recommend the tracks on Alpana Station BTW.

Cheers
Andrew.

We spent two nights at Angorichina Village (which is a privately operated camping
park) in 03. No pool then for sure.On our third day we visited the Wilpena area &
moved camp to there that night. I'm never critical of those that serve the camping
public unless the service or facilities are substandard & both at Angorichina were
fine. We found that Wilpena better suited our needs thats all, dont know about a pool there either but you can find that out. Easter may require early booking at
either venue. Recomend the Skytrek thing, most enjoyable. Good bush
camping along Parachilna Gorge if thats your scene. Enjoy your trip..oldbaz.

there is a pool in the resort area at Wilpena - you'd need to check that campers were allowed to use it.
