Haven't driven those in particular, but we did do a major highway (Route 70 I think) in the Rockies that the GPS clocked at 11,000 feet. Mechanics in that state certainly know how to tune the vehicles for altitude - we were in a new 3.7L V6 Jeep that almost died on the ascent, yet locals in crappy 70's cars were flying past us.
Not far from there you can drive up Pike's Peak (also on that website) at around 14,000 feet - I had mild altitude sickness after catching the cog train up to
the summit. Almost as bad as seasickness.

Those damn jeeps, ya think the computer would have the fueling ajustment ability for 11000 feet!
I am always driving around those altitudes and be good if they tune em so ya can drive underwater to.

Holy Toledo Batman, time to suck your guts in again.
I don't think I would be a very relaxed passenger on that track.

Just looking at those shots makes my skin crawl. You wouldn't want to cough the wrong way in that outboard truck.

Mate of
mine from work went there, I'm sure, on a 5mth Sth America backpack type strip. His stories were pretty hairy.
