today me and the mrs spent a few hours looking for a new vaccume cleaner.
theres no way in this world i was going to spent the $200-1000 that could quite easily be spent on some.
there you do dear i said theres quite a few available fot $100 or less so we spent 2hrs driving around to find a good deal on a cheap vaccume cleaner.
so thats about 4hrs all up(and we were bored)
found one on special for $79 instead of $119.
bought it straight away.
then come home to find the jack has a flat tyre.
go to the shed and grab my $300 compresor that rearly gets used and pumped up the tyre.
now we all know how often a vaccy gets used and this would be the first time ive used the compressor for a flat(have used to air up/down).
how do we get away with it lol.
cheers

But then a dud vaccy cleaner will not leave you stuck in the middle of nowhere looking at a flat tyre and wondering if a few more $ on the compressor would have been a good idea ....

I just keep control of the C/Card statements and "She" is none the wiser. Get away with most things this way.
Cheers. Trevor.
PS hope your hand is healing up as good as it can under the circumstance.

How do "we" get away with it?
How do "you" get away with it you mean.
Mum's vaccy cost twice as much as my compressor. I have used my compressor numerous times to get mum and the whole family out of trouble. All the vaccy has ever done for me is get me into trouble. "It's not a black snake you know!" says SWMBO when once again I failed to vacuum up the mess from one of those little fix it jobs she has given me.
That and trying to fix the cord rewind thing on the mongrel. That got me into trouble too.
But can I have the winch that once again will serve to get the whole family out of trouble? She keeps saying yes but won't release the funds. How does she get away with that?
Duncs.
p.s. Just joking I didn't really get into trouble for trying to fic the cord rewind thing........................................................... I got into trouble for failing!!!

Youve got it all wrong.
I brought a $800 top of the line with power head, she has clean carpets (after all it is me who makes the mess for her to clean). and I have a $400 compressor, and $800 radio a set of $300 straps a $400 rook rack an $1000 fridge (which is even funnier as the home fridge only cost $900 ) and the list goes on.
I say let them have fun vacuming on a good machine and they will never (not that ive heard) complain about what you spend on your own essentials.

Now THAT'S an example to follow.
Gunna build on that one at my place, can imagine myself getting away with stuff now that would haveformerly had me volunteering for overtime just to get away from home.

Was it plugged in... :)
I have a Wertheim 5030 and it's amazing. The only problem is that it picks up so much dirt I now have to change the bags frequently. That and I think it's actually sucking up the cheap carpet too (but that's the landlords problem).

You're telling me... that you know a guy who buys a $1500 vacuum cleaner then doesn't like it (or can’t use it) within the first 2 years and proceeds to throw it out as opposed to taking it back and asking the Godfreys salesman what he doing wrong???
What 4WD does he own? Let me know if he becomes suddenly unhappy with it too…

why spend $100-200 on repairs to a hunk of bleep , when you can buy a new one? time to cut your losses sometimes in life and reliase your mistakes.
he had a GU 98 mod 4.5 which he sold 12-18mths ago for $20k..
