My experience only: If you stay too close the road, you will hear the trucks rumble by all night. If you're really tired, you won't mind and will sleep well anyway.

Don't camp in the edge of the cliffs where it is all undermined. We once stayed (very open and visible from the road) half way between road and cliffs on a track rather than one of the well camped in parking bays, and there were old camp fires and sorbent streamers on the very edge of the cliffs - if only they'd looked at the cliffs from the south! It was also very windy out in the open.

Camping in Yalata aboriginal lands is i believe a no-no without permission; nice bush, but we respect that it is aboriginal land.

Plenty of scope to drive a fair way from the road.

I haven't heard any bad news stories and felt quite secure camping either in the open looking out over the ocean, or in our favourite secret spot.

Have you heard the sang by Slim Dusty called "There's Something in the Pilliga" well it hasn't been sighted for a long time now and it is believed to be on the Nullabor

Don't think they ever found the Nullabor Nymph - I think she's still out there.....

We often camp in the roadside stops that are well sheltered, and its fine.

It's the Aliens!!

Dont camp close to the road. They will get you!

Just ask the family whose vehicle got picked up and thrown around at Mundrabilla.

Looking for adventure.

was running low as i approached the next servo on from Yalata one night. i just pulled the camper up at the bowser and was woken in the morning when they knocked on the window to fuel me up.
The human carnage from the assosiated pub had to be seen to be believed as they drive in from yalata. i must have been tired as i never heard a thing

I take it then that there's nothing to worry about and just take the usual precautions, tripwire with bells on it about five metres out from van, solar lights on nearby hill to draw attention from van and finely sensor lights on all four corners and my favourite, barking dog sound effects.
