I'm up... in pain....
I bet some of you older Explorozers have the same problems.
Over the last few years my poor old teeth have been cracking off from around the fillings.... a lot are mainly metal. Brushed my teeth as a kid... but there's no natural protection in our
water. [there's an argument]
Had a root canal done a year ago.... not nice.... not nice at all.
This morning went in for another. After an hour of delicate work the dentist gave up. Pieces kept breaking off. The whole thing was cracked and unsavable.
Left hand side... very deep and hooked roots. After One and half hours of work he finally got every bit out. Had to dig a fair bit of bone away.
Mate.... these Panadine Forte and lovely. I think I'll have some more and go to bed..... to lie on my right side... with the icepack on my left.... with my tummy full of custard cos I can't eat anything else...

Royce I can sympoathise with you about the root canal, four times!
remember if it happens again, the pain is caused by air getting to the nerve so use a piece of chewing gum to plug it up. you can also use a damp cotton ball with teething gel on it. Both of these are great emergency solutions until you get to the dentist.

For what use it is; you have my sympathy :(
"Oil of cloves" was an old pain killer for toothache - use a cotton wool bud to put it on the gum around the tooth, it's a natural anesthetic I assume. However probably PF or similar are much more effective these days?

If you're not allergic to Codeine, get some industrial strength Codeine Phosphate 30mg from your doctor - these will knock the pain - keep the balance of pills for if it happens again.
cheers

Royce mate, go and have a good, stiff "hand crank".
Nature sez you can't feel 2 sensations at once!!
An old foreman of said that to me when I once mashed me finger, hammer and chiselling out a chewed shackle bush on a truck. PUCK, it pucking hurt that did!

Bugger you Royce!
You just brought back some horrid memories!
God how I envy the
young of today, no fluoride when I was a kid.
My two sons are now in their thirties and have three fillings between them. At their age I had five teeth removed and everything else drilled, filled, ground or under deep suspicion.
I know it wont help you a damn but rest assured that I can emphasise with you.

Royce, mate I sympathise....I had RC recently & I was pleasantly surprised, the only disconcerting moment during the proceedure was when dentist got a miniture angle grinder into mouth to cut the rods to the correct length... It was the sparks that disturbed me. If you go out and "Hang out" you may be able to score some pethidine from your local drug lord....Not much else will kill that type of pain...

Royce
I symapthise.
I always seemed to get tooth trouble when 500km from nowhere.
The net result of this was that I extracted 6 teeth myself, mainly using fencing pliers and liberal amounts of Scotch as pain a killer. Broken bits were left behind.
All these sins came home to roost at the beginning of 2003. By June 2006 all was resolved with 10 trips to
Port Pirie Clinic and 14 trips to Royal
Adelaide Dental. I really do not want to see another dentist ever ever again. Dentist opinion I eat too many sweets....YES, I know!!!!
Now have some
shop teeth fitted in between those which are still there. Pretty again...lol
Cheers

Legal panadine forte , 2x tabs + 2oz of a good scotch every 3 to 4 hrs ,if still in pain increase scotch volume and shorten time frame down to every 2 hrs , if still in pain phone
ambulance , use
ambulance to go back to dentist ,shoot dentist ,drink rest of scotch bottle and take all the rest of panadeine forte , no judge or jury will convict a drug crazed bleep pot with a toothache of self defence against a dentist,,lol .
