Just wish to publicly thank and praise the Wattle Ranges club in Beachport South Australia, in particually Zig and Harry for their work, help, and friendship over the Melb cup weekend.

They have worked with local council to keep 4wding open.. Shows what can be done when people stick together..

To achieve this, the club has available at each end of the usual Robe - beachport - Carpenters Rocks tracks maps (although a little hard to read), with numbered locations of where to turn, what to see etc..

Brilliant!

Makes life easy for running trips, specially when I had 6 people that had no sand driving experience.

They are also a great bunch of people, we had a Interclub BBQ with them on the Saturday night, which was followed by a run around the dunes, and lake with the WR club.

So anyone planning on heading there, contact them, and Im sure you will be welcomed.

Look forward to repayin the favor to them sometime in the future.

Thanks Zig.

Rgds
Me.

PS. just a tip, can you put on the maps to Robe, how far from Nora Corena to the start of the next section at LD.
Our second group didnt realise that there was the section from the Park to robe along the beach... ;)

Will pass on these suggestions to Harry.

I recently became paid up member (post No 39242) and made comment that i had met you and Des Lexic wanted to meet you in a dark alley for some reason :)))))

Heard that soem of your members did not surface until late Sunday following the approx midnight finish on the Saturday.

It was great to have your group visit and we do hope that next year Wattle Rangers may get over to Vic and try out the Nissan Club facilities. You and your group are welcome to visit again and we would be pleased to catch up again.

I hope you had a great time in the Flinders area, the worst part is having to go back to work.

Cheers

The state 4WD association is wanting to post the maps on their web site and I beleive that the Victorian Assn wants to also, or the National body.

All feed back is welcomed and passed onto Harry.

Cheers

Because that is at a Shack site at Youghusband (approx 20k upstream from Mannum). Usually got more water in it but at the time I thought I would give it a try as bikes get on there. Ended up having to hook on a tractor to pull it out backwards.

Cheers

Just been discussing doing a run down there on Australia Day weekend with the club. No doubt it will be like Bourke St but it would certainly be great to access some local knowledge about where to go and not to go.
