Hi Dags
When your next down at a car parts/acc store, grab a manual such as gregorys.
I bought
mine for $50,may seem a lot but there be other stuff in there that you don't know you'll need later, and yes it has a wiring diagram

When I did the Rodeo I approached it a different way: I Googled the radio/cassette model I was taking out and got a wiring code.
I used that to work out the car's wiring code by checking what colours joined what, before I disconnected the old unit.

Dags, looks like PhilG has given you the answer you were after.
(Just in case it doesn't work out for some reason, you can tap wires on the terminals of a 9volt battery and listen for the "clicking" speaker. *** DO NOT hold on though- and do as quickly as possible- otherwise you can fry the voice coil by sending it a DC signal. I use a Telco "F-Set" at work to trace cables, but you're unlikely to have access to one??)
Hot tip- DON'T cut the factory unit's plug off- strip the cables back and solder on your new radio's cables- makes it easier to revert to original set-up down the line. Also, if you've got an auxilliary battery, best to run the radio power to that and just join (parallel) the radio's ignition trigger wire to the radio's power wire.

Dags
If ya have a look at most car acc
places they have plug adapters that plug into the olf stereo plug and then straight into the new system. I know you can get them for most normal cars but 4bys Im not sure.
