Hi everyone..

Only took just under 3 weeks and a lot of stress with it but the Paj is FINALLY back in my driveway!
No problems at all with NRMA, but the repairer.. well that is another story! But that by the side, all that matters is I finally have my beloved vehicle back! The chassis wasn't cracked so that was a good thing, they fixed everything up, discovered the fuel tank copped a hit to and had a big crack in it so that also got replaced, They couldn't get a Boss tow assembly so got a Hayman Reece (well they make the Boss anyway). Redid wheel alignment and bits and pieces.
My seat, they did not replace it which I am not happy about, they 'fixed it'. I am not happy with it, and the back rest does not lock into the position I always put it into. Mark is back in hospital so he wasn't able to come with me to pick the car up, so we will book it in with NRMA for a post repair inspection and Mark can go up there with it.
I have been thankful for having the hire car for the last two weeks obviously, but you will never ever get me in anything but a 4wd again, Driving the hire car (a nissan pulsar) I felt so low to the ground, so unprotected and vulnerable, If someone wanted to hit me I definately wouldn't be as lucky as I have been in the 4by. That 4wd let me walk away twice without loss of my life or really serious injuries, if I was in a normal car... No way.. just will never go there again!
Am putting it in on Wednesday for its service, so will also have our mechanic go over it completely.
But that is pretty much all from this end, Mark been in hospital since wednesday and still there, got car back on friday, my computer has been down for a few days but a very wonderful EO member has repaired it for me, still not enough sleep for myself but otherwise I got my car back so all is well!!!!!!!!!!

Take care everyone
Cheers
Jo

Good and bad news, Jo, hope Mark is out and up and running on all eight cylinders soon.

Hope you got them to fit a high ntensity rear light so at least theres a chance u might be seen.

And get the seat fixed quickly, a damaged seat can be a bigger risk than a hire car.

Hey Bonzarelli.

I was talking with Trev on the phone this morning and he had 2 good suggestions for me in regards to the seat. I am not happy with it, it isn't right, Trev suggested visiting a few Pajeros in a car yard and having a sit down, very good suggestion! and number 2 is take the car to Department of Transport and get one of their guys who specifically does road worthy stuff to take a look at the seat himself. Now that is a brilliant suggestion! Our Trev isn't just a pretty face!
So that is my plan, then after that I will take it back to NRMA for the post repairs inspection and have my say on anything (well especially the repairer).
I'll probably cop a bagging for this but too bad been hit twice too many... now when driving with my lights on (obviously when it is not raining or foggy as I don't want to shine peoples vision out) I am driving with the rear fog lights on. All my tail lights are on the bumper yet the back left and ride side lights that are near the back door, they are basically just ornaments, there is no brake lights or tail lights from them at all, so the fogs stay on and now how could you possibly not see me!
Have to get to the hospital, back tonight.
Take care Bonz
Cheers
Jo

Hi Jo, I guess you are the teabags....... Howd things go at the hossy? Are we on the improve? Maybe you need to fit a small driving light to the rear of the vehicle, I am thinking a Lightforce XGT or similar.

Hey Bonz!

Nope I am Teacup, Mark is Teabags!
Mark was talking about wanting to do that a while ago.. definately on the cards now!
Teabags is back home, came home yesterday after a 5 day stay....The nurses are getting to know him well now! Wasn't to do with his kidneys directly though (although they keep that all monitored if he has had to go in for another reason), he has no immune system because of the immunosupressants they have him on because of his kidneys, so what was one infection turned into two infections and a pneumonia. He is just glad to be home! but then hates being home because I (try--being the operative word) to sleep all day and then work 12hrs all night! he'd get more conversation from the hospital staff and patients than what he would out of me in a day!!!!! speaking of which it is nearly 8am already, I have to try and sleep but something tells me with that whipper snipper going across the road it won't be as easy as I'd like!
Have a great day Bonz!

Cheers
Jo

Good to hear you have the car back but also sadned to hear Mark is not too well. Give him our best wishes for a speedy exit from hospital (I know a full recovery is out of the question right at this moment but we are wishing for one anyway).

All our thoughts Jo.
Trev and Jude.

PS lucky you weren't holding your breath for use of the Blizzard as it is still in the workshop LOL!!

Jo

Great news that the Paj is back home again! I agree with Bonz, the drivers seat is a safety concern.

Sorry to hear Mark is back in hospital, give him our best wishes, we are thinking of you guys.

Regards

Jo,

Sorry to hear about Mark. Hope he's back home as soon as possible.

Don't hold back on the insurer or repairer. They take your money easy enough but are generally a lot more reticent when it comes to fulfilling their part of the deal.

Hey Gramps, Hey Brian!

Yeh I am not going to let this one go..
When I went and picked the car up, I spent 20 odd minutes fiddling with the seat trying to get it right, comparing it with the passenger side, The car was parked in direct view of the office where the owner who had came and spoke to me could see everything I was doing. I was getting really frustrated with the thing, He came out and says to me what's wrong?. I told him the seat is not right, it is wrong, the backrest will not move forward as much as it is suppose to, so therefore when I have my hands on the wheel my arms are completely outstretched with no elbow bend. He says you get in the front seat...GET THIS he gets in the back seat and uses his knees to push the seat forward! What the hell is that!!!!!!!!!
Honestly the way I was feeling and the frustrations of the whole week and then he does that! I had to just start the car and drive out otherwise I would not have been responsible for the actions of my mouth and fists! Unbelievable!

Cheers guys
Jo
