Hi folks,

We got our first caravan, a Coromal 10 days ago (will let rip on the quality in another posting) and did our first SHORT trip away to test out how the caravan travelled and worked worked, and also our vehicles capacity to tow etc etc.

We have dogs and they will travel on our big trip in February so they came for their testing too. So obviously we had to find a dog tolerant park close to our home on the NSW Far North Coast.

We chose Mount Warning Caravan Park. They also list as Mount Warning Holiday Resort. The Mrs and I cannot speak highly enough about our 3 days there and RECOMMEND it to our Ex Oz friends. It is listed in the new NRMA Park guide under Mount Warning and is rated as 3.5 stars. We paid $22 a night for 2 people.

As the name may suggest, it is right in the foothills of Mount Warning. You pass through Murwillumbah to get to it. The sites are generous in size a well treed and shady. Abundant bird life. They are dog tolerant (although they ask for a good behaviour bond on arrival - we passed and got it back). There is a Wilderness section that has powered witches hats in a big paddock and dogs are not permitted in this area.

The CP has a good sized clean swimmming pool., An oudoor but covered barbeque area and clean toilet/shower blocks. We took water with us from home. Don't bother. Their's tastes great and we learned that the Murwillumbah dam named after a local identity "Clarrie Hall" is currently full and that enough water for the next 10 years.

As this CP it is only 75km from our place at Ballina we will be regular future visitors. Next time I intend to try and do the 8.8 km Mount Warning walk/climb and understand this takes a good 5 hours.

SKI'er,

Sounds like you had a great time. I had a quick look at Places (on the menu above) and could not find a listing for this park. I wonder of you would not mind adding the Place to the system. If you have a GPS location that would be even more perfect - Anyway just to get the description, facilities list and contact information would be a great start.

In general it is best to update the places system with this type of information as it will not get lost in the size of the forum database and will be searchable in the Caravan Parks Search - See Places here: www.exploroz.com/Places/Default.aspx and select New place for the park you have mentioned. You can then post your review in the forum and link it to the places system if you like (Just open the page in places you want and then copy the address line and paste it into you thread like this one for Site Link Blowering Holiday Park - NSW.

Thanks
David (DM) & Michelle (MM)

Hi David,

Will work my way through your advice and post at the "places" section of our site.

I chose to mention the C Park because dog friendly places are few and far between in that far north coast section of NSW and southern Q'land coast sector and thought it may help others.
