Well not quite...............lol

Judith has been elected by due process to serve on the District Council as a Councillor and is tonight at a meeting, giving me free space in the house, and ample access to Icy Cold beer.....more lol

Anyway, I have a feeling that life is about to change, although I will still maintain my sedentary ways.........................

Cheers from me and Jeddah(the dog who is lying by the back gate peering down the lane for the Xtrail).....:-D

Sounds like you might be in the market for a bigger beer fridge :))

As per Bonz's reply, community spirited people keep the wheels turning.

No doubt I will be awakened at 1am or later and have to listen to this and that......lol

Still....one must do what one feels one must do...does that make sense?

agree with many of the comments but willy, do you think it is really a once a month committment, really, you are smarter than that, any public event someone will want to chew her ear about amenities, roads, kinder funding, etc, etc. don't be surprised, i socialize with the odd councillor......
what do you think I ask......

hey bonz, do you think the minister for everything could join the Timboon school council? They need it, possibly sharonM needs a hand, not sure if she is there now.

Hey Nick R,

Retired from all that "head up against a brick wall" stuff at Timboon 2 years ago when the youngest moved schools. Since then I have taken a break to "recharge" but am now looking to put my hand up for another community task in the near future.

The Minister for Anything and Everthing is quite busy at Terang at the mo but can assist with all manner of community things especially those that involve chainsaws. Sharyn, I know what u mean

Great news for Judith, Willem, I was wondering how she went.
Will have to get your tux out Willem and dust it off for all those official events, where you will be able to mingle with the high and mighty of your area and others!

Cheers Pesty

Willem,

Congrats to Judith. I did the same for five years and it is a very satisfying thing to do. Especially being in SA where the political parties do not have an influence.
It is a very difficult thing to do because you have to constantly juggle things and half of what you do is either not seen or will not be seen until well into the future. Unfortunateley the average Joe isn't visionary and only want his pot hole filled in and doesn't care about anything else. Gets very frustrating at times.
Any chance you can get her to move the Flinders closer to Adelaide?

Morning Willem,

A very BIG well done to Judith........nice to know we have friends in high places........lol lol

BUT.....if Judith eventually becomes Mayoress of your precinct, and I reckon it will happen in due course, you will be known, officially, as the "First Man" of Peterborough.......LOL LOL

I reckon we will move up the road a bit, at least you have some semblence of sensibility in your Council now. -more than we have:(((

Cheers
Michael

Hi Willem & Judith

Congratulations to the two of you on Judith's election to Councillor for your district.
As they say, behind every good man is a great woman!
Willem, we're sure you will be a valued partner in Judith's quest to do her best for your community.
Enjoy this next leg of your journey together.

Like others have said WIllem, congrats to Judith, firstly on haveing a go and secondly on the success.

Just a word of warning though... he was elected to coucil before I arrived in this town so I don't know if he was always the way he is now or if being on council has 'done it' to him, in fact that is unfair there is more than one on our council who appear to be suffering. But if Judith starts to show signs of becoming a dithering, indecisive, week kneed .......... kidnap her and head for somewhere really remote, I am sure yo can think of a place, and keep her there until all the symptoms ahve dissappeared.
