If you want to fill the Engine Oil in your 1fz-fe engine quickly here's a tip.
Get a 2 litre plastic juice bottle (drink the juice first) and then cut the bottom out of it. You will find that the thread where the lid goes will screw in to the rocker cover where your filler cap is and you can pour in 5 litres of oil in about 30 seconds.
It also alleviates the problem of spilling oil over the rocker cover. I'm sure it will be the same for other engines (including the 3F) but I only have the tried it on these 2.
Also does anyone lnow what can cause a whistling type sound from the exhaust on 80 series cruisers. A friend has one and his whistles at about 2500 rpm under load.
It is a petrol 4.5, not a turbo whistle.

They used to say that you shouldn't put oil in too fast because it can overflow into the crankcase ventilation hose, and into the intake. Don't know whether this applies to the 4.5

Happens to the 2H diesel, Iknow of two that were hydraulicked by rapid oil fill.
Had to remove the glowplugs and crank it over to get rid of the oil in the cylinders.

Hi, alot of yotas have the exhaust whistle even my 78 diesel does annoy me as it sounds a bit girley. The best way is to fit a 2.5 inch exhaust with or without extractors then you get a better breathing motor and a more blokey note. Otherwise live with it ie wind up the windows. There is no drama, I assume the 80s make the noise as the exhaust is crushed to fit over the crossmember above the rear dif causing restriction. Don't know why the 78 does it as the exhaust doesn't have the restriction.
