Hey Dereck
Try the 4x4 wreckers, I picked up a 2nd hand swing out one for $300 from
Townsville about 10mths ago. Works
well.

Hi Dereck, You could also try Ebay. I got one for $300.00. Its a Japan unit(sim. to the hilux/surf). I had to addapt unit to suit
barn yard doors, but I'm very happy with it

I've got a mate who installed a long range
tank where the usual spare goes. Like you, he freaked at the price of the spare wheel carriers and bought a roofrack instead where he keeps his 2 spares. He didn't want an extra 150kgs at the back of the vehicle either.

Gday Dereck,
I made my wheel carier out of 50mm RHS and a stub axle off an old trailer axel as the hinge. It works
well, doesnt look bad and cost $15.
Cheers
