Hi,
Iam wanting to travel the southern part of New south wales during the Christmas period. Was wanting some information on any Caravan parks that are nice and not booked out between Eden and Batemans bay in Nsw.

Thanks

jojo, Batemans Bay is hell at Christmas, being a suburb of Toytown (Canberra)
& will be booked solid by now. Eden is a great area & prompt booking may get
you in in that area. You may like to consider Mallacoota as well in Vic but the same
proviso applies..be quick. ..oldbaz.

I agree with Oldbaz.... the South coast of NSW is absolute bedlam over Xmas....& the prices skyrocket, my BIL takes his Van to Merimbula & they charge $70 a night for a powered site 2 adults & 2 kids....
I'm sorry but I don't know of any Van park, nice or otherwise, that is not booked solid over this time....

Yeah agreed wiht above, that area is chockers at that time of yeah.

Although try Eden, Boydtown Caravan Park, previously you weren't able to book and you could take up as much or little room as you like, great camping ground/caravan park the beach is kid safe and some good fishing in that area.

Cheers

Boydtown as already suggested could be an option.
Stay the hell out of both Batemans Bay and Merimbula.
Batemans is Canberras Surfers Paradise as is Merimbula for Melbourniets, both are expensive as all get out.

I'm not confident in making any reccommendations so late in the year.

Jojo

Had a couple of weeks down at Jervis Bay last Xmas and found it not so crowded and a realy nice spot. Small shopping centre at Husky and a bit bigger at Vincentia a short drive around the bay.

The place we stayed was about 5K out of the main town of Huskisson and caters for caravans & camping - very private positions on the site - I don't know how you would go this time of the year finding a spot most places on the south side.

I tried 12 places to go north and found the last camp site at Weroona near Manning Point

I don't know how to post a link but the addy is below

www.jervisbaycabins.com.au

Good luck and best wishes for the Hols

Hi jojo,

We had a great stay at the caravan park at Wonboyn Lake, 30+kms south of Eden.
May be worth a phone call to check it out (0264969131) or try their website at www.wonboyncabins.com.au
Cheers,
Bob

Can also recommend Wonboyn Lake. Not on the beach, it's a sandy road drive away but lovely. Superb for fishing -- lake and beach.
Happy days,

You could also try Wallaga Lake Park north of Bermagui and also Zane Grey Caravan Park on the headland at Bermagui.

There are lots of nice places to stay down there...

Shallow Crossing Nelligen (30 mins from Batemans Bay)
Nelligen Caravan Park (more touristy, but all the creature comforts)
Bermagui, Pambula, Merimbula (as mentioned above)
Tathra caravan Park

My pick would be Shallow Crossing, cheap, awesome scenery (right on the Clyde river, and it's not deep so you can let your kids play around in the crystal clear water :)
