I think there is a 3B and a 3Bll. Im not 100% sure but some had inline pumps and some had rotary pumps
Again Im not sure if the paint signafies a difference in engine specs.

You could ask someone on this forum, there is a handfull of 3B experts there;)

to my knowledge all 3b toyo diesel are the same . fitted to a few hj landcrusers & dyna trucks & a few forktrucks. there is a couple of variation's of the b series eng though. b,2b,3b I am not sure but i think there is allso a factory turbo version but i have never seen one . as for a blue 3b me thinks its just paint. .....666toy

There is a 3b and a 3BT which is the turbo version fitted to some midwheelbase 73 cruisers back in the mid 80's. 3.4 litre from memory, pretty tough motors sort of like a 4 cylinder 2H.
You may find that a motor with a different coloured block is a reconditioned engine.
Lots if not most 2H were blue and I think the 3B's might have been too.

UPDATE there is a 3B and 3Bll and the differnce is the inline pump vs the rotary
The rotary pump aso has the fuel filter/sedimenter fixed to the inside fender rather than the engine.
The 3Bll MAY also have a return lne back to the tank.
The inline pump only recyles it back to the filter.

The 13BT turbo engine are all inline pumps.
