Does anyone know if there are any reasonably priced biodiesel kits available in Australia.

Google seems to only show up kits in USA or VERY expensive kits in Australia.

Any URL's/phone numbers/addresses etc would be appreciated.

Cruiser,

Not sure if these are the
VERY expensive kits in Australia
you have seen
but the link to BioWorks is
www.bioworks.com.au/index.html

there are links there to purchase their gear.

I've heard of a guy that has bought one and gone completely legal - gaining Council approval, paying excise, building a dedicated area in his shed etc

I made me own. Two plastic 20 litre buckets, an electric drill, an old electric tea urn, some plastic pipe.

Makes 40 litres a day but time consuming.

When I get "a round tuit", I've collected the gear to make a full blown stainless steel set up from an old solar water heater tank.

I have about 800 litres of used oil in the shed just waiting to to go.

I made mine myself also ---- 2 drums both 60 litre first drum is the main activation drum which i made a small jig for to hold a drill -- also made my own mixing rod from some reo bar and flat bar welded on

second drum is for bubble washing and settling.

i am upgrading to 200 Litre drums this week --- your better of making your own if you have the resources as my little set up has cost me about $50

Making your own is the way to go, made my little unit from scratch for about $100.00 tops.

I use a gas cook top to heat the oil an 2 x 60L drums, first as the activation and settling tank, then pass it through a 5 micron filter (poly spun) then into the second tank where I fill my vehicle from.

Happy to send off a picture or 2 if you like.....

Cheers,
