Hi all: just back from
Vic High Country with JohnR (Vic) & Moses, Des Lexic and Blaze:
while cleaning gear have noticed that a few small sections of the fridge basket have friction wear on the white rubber-like coating. Any ideas on what to use to prevent what might be eventually expected: rust patches??
Thanks and all the best, RayJen

I am surprised that you survived the ordeal with those old buggers as company.....hahahaha
You could try a dab of white silicon rubber on the marks.
Cheers

try what willem has suggested and in future put a towel under it as
well.
i use the towel for 2 reasons, 1 to stop the rubbing and 2 as i have the 110lt model the towel sucks up any moisture. why they dont put a bung in these big ones has got me stuffed. cheers

Gday Handy
Good point about the lack of a bung - the little sponge under the flap (80l) is quite laughable!
Cheers Andrew

After returning from the Kimberleys we found that some of the vertical wires were rubbing on the inside lining of the fridge too, especially near the top lid hinge end. This left the nice white paint a bare silver colour. 40 litre FF40 model. What I did was to get some soft clear tubing similar to fish
tank air supply tubing, cut appropiate length strips that would fit between the horizontal bars in the relevant place/s, then carefully cut the pieces of tube down the middle lengthways, and clip them around the vertical bars. 2 strips sufficed as they then gave the whole side of the basket a bit of clearance from the white lining. Bit amateurish, but it worked.
