I got a
tank today from the first SAFF station that I know of in vic. This diesel is the real deal, its actually B100, not B10 or B20 like the competition. Anyway its 2cents cheaper and seems fine. They also sell bio petrol. Some interesting facts from the brochure
- Fully renewable, non toxic and quickly biodegradable on land or
water
- more lubricity than ultra low sulphur better wear and tear
- 100% greenhouse neutral due to a native planting scheme on the diesel buyers behalf
- -70% less air toxins, -55% black smoke
they also sell E10 which is also 100% carbon neutral.
I recon these guys are doing an excellent job and all this stuff is 100% aussie owned, I dont have any affiliation but think anyone who can, should support this company.

DITTO I cant see the point of buying it 2-3 cents cheaper if you have to change filters more often

Why Truckster?- if they were charging slightly more I would still buy- at the end of the day, it's a better product than dino diesel and better for your engine too!
Luke- you generally only have to change the first one or maybe two (if that) earlier than usual, as the biodiesel cleans build up from your fuel delivery system from years of dinodiesel use- after that, all is good and back to better than normal.

Is it safe to fill your
tank with 100% bio after regular diesel? My Hilux has done only 38,000 km.

Sure is, it is totally compatible with dino and will mix
well.
As has been mentioned the bio will clean out your fuel system so you may initially use a couple of filters but after that it will be all good especially on later model vehicles that do not have rubber seals/hoses in the fuel system.
Extended use on older vehicles (pre early 90's) may lead to hose and seal softening.
Initial use might give an increase in fuel consumption and a slight loss of power but I've found that it will return to normal after a few tankfuls.
It is also much kinder to hands.

This might sound like a lead-in to a joke about a dog with no nose, but how does it smell?

My friends reckon it makes them hungry following me in the scrub because of the 'fish and chips' smell from the exhaust ;-))
The smell of the bio in the
tank isn't unpleasant, probably less intrusive than dino.

I guess you'd worry if they told you it started to smell grilled, rather than fried!

its on boronia rd boronia around 1km towards the city coming from dorset rd. the website does not have an update of the new
shop yet.
www.farmersfuel.com.au/
I really cant see any downside to buying from this company, its better for your engine, slightly cheaper, supports the aussie economy, gives farmers other revenue other than human consumption crops, the crops can be grown in crappy soil, and probably the most important of all, if you use this fuel either the petrol or diesel its as if you have just taken your car off the road because its 100% carbon neutral.
Another interesting fact, they use 3L of dinodiesel to get 1L of fuel to the fuel station pump. With bio, they use 1L of fuel and output 2L to the pump.
