Before you all cringe re the thought of discussing Honda generators again, all l am looking for is suggestions as to where the best price might be to buy one from in or around the ACT or if indeed its practical to buy interstate and pay for postage?

Stephen--got one in June from Grahams Building Equipment in High st Qbyan for 1975 less 200 cash back--seemed a good price then, plus they give you a run down on it.

In
Adelaide, the prices are far and away best when there is a sizeable caravan and
camping show on (even if the retailer is not at the show). At other times, they don't budge a cent from RRP - and the cash back is not always there.
BTW - you can save a few hundred by choosing Yamaha - their reputation seems as good - I've put my eggs in that basket - been good so far - (1KVA model) - lovely little beast.

Indeed
Ross - the other thing about this class of 4 stroke gennie (regardless of brand) is that they have such a small oil bath its so damn cheap to change the oil frequently..... the foam air filter is easy to wash.......that just leaves a new plug once in a blue moon..........it will probably outlast me !

$1,490 seems to be a standard price in my area. (which is below RRP) but I recently saw an ad (on the net) for $1,450. Not much in it. But Honda currently has a $150 cash back deal, which helps.
I recently checked them out when my Kipor died. Haven't bought one yet as I haven't given up on the Kipor (though it is not looking good).
If I buy another, it will be a Honda.
