this article (which you need to subscribe to read the whole thing)mentions that Nissan will be getting the Navistar International Powerstroke 4.5L V6 turbo diesel - that was once going to appear in the Ford F150 (until Ford bought Land Rover and did a deal with Purgeot to get a 4.4L version of the 3.6L TDV8 in the new Range Rover) for the next F150.
The Navistar website says the "MaxxForce" 4.5 diesel puts out 200HP (150kw) and 440ft-lbs (595Nm) - but Nissan would really need to to put out 220kw/750Nm these days with that size motor, as 150kw can easily be achieved with a 3L diesel

I would suspect this motor will be available in the Nissan Titan and Armada and would replace the Patrol in Australia

Does anybody here have any more info?

Hey Bonz,

I wonder how much more whizz-bangery the pointy-headed techs in Japan will come up with to change what could be a very capable donk, into another boat anchor?

Mass Airflow Sensor (of course), oil viscosity sensor, cabin fart sensor, idiot behind the wheel sensor, timing belt change-time sensor, piston & bleep sensor.....oh, the list just goes on and on.....hahahaha

Really, they are heading in the right direction if that is true. A good reliable, frugal V6 diesel (common rail?) that is commanded by a computer chip "guaranteed" NOT TO FRY itself would be a beautiful thing to behold. Too bad they'll probably couple it up to a IFS and IRS...damn; think I'll just have to make do with the GU in 6.5 V8 format......

Another reason to hang on to your GU 3.0Di. Unbreakable chassis, dual live axle, self adjusting tappets, 10K oil change, chain driven timing, Automatic transmission superiority. Rock Solid.

Well at least they are trying, even if they are 12mths behind anyone else.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Cheers Dodg.
