Hey all,

Got a waeco battery, only 7 months old. It dosen't seem to be working and when I shake it, it seems as if there is fluid floating around inside.
Is it destroyed?

The two halves of the casing are secured with biro sized (thick) plastic Phillips head screws, probably 6 of them. The screw holes are then filled with some kind of soft filler to make them look neat. These plug holes are visibe from above and are located half way down the casing. At least ours are. At least they are on our Waeco Thumper 48ah battery (currently for sale in the Trader section of this forum). Once removed you may need new plastic screws. I have a S.A. source if you need one for replacement screws.
If you remove the plastic screws you can part the case & look inside, or replace a broken hella outlet plug as we had to do.
Hint, do not try to do this on the lounge room carpet if you think there may be fluid floating around inside!

thanks Arkay.....
As it should still be under warranty I am not keen on opening it.
This one is a raps36.... 36 amp hours.... I also have a thumper. Does yours have the jumper leads with it too? I may have a friend interested in it.

This may seem a little too obvious, but when I had issues or questions about my Waeco products, beit fridge or battery pack I rang Waeco or a dealer. Thats how I found out not to overcharge one as they may explode!

Yes, extfilm, it does have the jumper leads. Though how one would get a heavy beast like it to NSW economically I'm blessed if I know. Never thought of the jumper leads, thanks, they are currently in my "4WD box". I'll get them out. Send me a member to member message if you want further info and the I'll send my email address or phone number.
