nissan will be sending letters to all pathfinder owners regarding towbars and load distributing devices

basically says not to use them and will give a free inspection to towbar if you have

Where did you get your information from regarding letter from Nissan? I have a pathfinder and have had a misfortune of sheared and bent bolts with a genuine nissan fitted towbar. Nissan have refunded in full the cost for removal of the nissan towbar and supply and fit of a Hayman Reese towabar.
I have also spoken to RACQ in Brisbane and they advise that they are investigating the situation via AAA and will keep me informed. I have heard of two occasions, one in QLD and one in WA where the towbar/van have completely seperated from the vehicle (at low speed thankfully).

dont you think they also keep track of what and who writes what? isnt hard to track stuff if they want..

Do you know if this problem involves the Navara as well as they both use a common chassis. Not sure what the difference is in the rear of both vehicles

Cheers Dave

Navara towbar is completely different, it bolts to both sides of the chassis length ways.

I got my letter from Nissan yesterday. Can't believe that Nissan are just trying to get away with "sorry for the inconvenience" crap in their letter.
