If you do a bit of bush work- and forget to retract the antenna - why not a stainless steel springy type one as fitted standard to late model Jackaroos.
Can't break em.
Should be able to get one as a non-genuine part.

Niffty.......had the same prob.....and no...the after market retracables don't fit .as there's not enough room for there motor placement under the guard........easy to get heavy duty spring base model...to go in the hole....or bracket eg:same as cb style to come out beside bonnet........genuine are way to expensive

The centre aerial with the nylon tail from a commodore about VN modle fits
Undo
the nut around the aerial -turn the radio on the aerial will feed out take note which side the teeth are on - feed the new one in turn the radio off push down on nylon section until it catches when it auto stops refit
the nut run it up and down a few times until it fully retracts - the commodore one will stay up about 40mm when retracted but for under $20.00 i can live with that
Regards Kev
P.S if the nylon is broken thats easy too, lets know if you need more info

Thanks Kev
I will go for this option first.I have only the plastic tail protruding from the aeial base with about 25 mm of the original aerial left.I have a mate that has done his comode aerial, so it sounds like a few beers and its fixed.
Thanks to all for your input.
