I use Apple Itunes.
You need to change the default, so it converts to MP3 instead of another format.

Thanks Barnray, it took me 1 week to work out how to do this only 2-3 weeks ago. I got my info from how stuff works web site. I had to download a program to do this and it expires soon (express Rip). That's because Windows media kept making WAM files not Mp3????? I now have changed my options Thanks. Slow to Learn slow to forget Kevin

Windows media player 10 does the job very
well indeed. If you have version 9 just update, free, simple and easy.

If you click on help/about windows media player it will give you the version
Version 10 on will do the mp3 conversion.
I have version 11 on one PC but will be staying with 10 on my others, didn't like 11, 10 does all I need so why get a new bloated version. In fact I will try to delete 11 but read sometime ago during the beta days that it's a mongrel to uninstall.
www.windowsmediaplayer.com for an update

MusicMatch Jukebox .. the best there is ...
there is a free version and a cheap shareware version ..
I use it since 98 or so and it served me
well through
all the versions on various systems ... will also run on
an in-car pc with flash memory as media ..
I do not support proprietary products, so I would bot go near
Apple and Ipods ... Bad enough that I run Cinema Displays
but they run on Unix and Windows machines ..
have fun

I have no idea Nudie, it makes em, sorts em, plays em as good as any doesn't it.
and by the way I expect you to scare the crap outta those English cricketers who are visiting your great state, put them off their game like the QLD'ers did,
well they probably had some culture shock there.

Hi Mary - I use Nero. Came free with the CD burner.
Using Nero Express - on the bottom of screen is a> button.
Click that - and you will see a button 'Save to HD' (hard Disc).
Click that, and Nero will read your CD. You simply select the tracks you want; select the output format (MP3) and the jobs done...................Keith
