Hi,

just took the wifes car down to the local shop, on the way back cough, splutter,it runs out of fuel. The guage says 1/4 full, rang her on the mobile and politely asked "whats going on with this thing", I was informed that in the last couple of
weeks when the guage gets to around 1/4 full mark the car goes funny, so I should have put some fuel in it!!. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE THING FOR THE LAST TWO MONTHS. Man !! its hard to keep ya mouth shut sometimes.

Rant for the day

Axle.

Hi Alex

When I met my wife, she was driving a Holden Gemini and the oil light kept coming on in the dash. She asked me what it meant!! I asked how long it had been coming on for. "Oh about a month I guess" LOL

Now that we live in a remote area, I make sure I check the vehicle myself before she drives anywhere. Having said that, she is a better driver than I am, as long as warning lights don't distract her LOL.

Cheers
John

No, they are the ones who know that those numbers don't turn around no matter how much you do 'round the house or how many foot massages you give.... ;-)))

Axle, son regularly leaves his car here while he's working away. Never known him to leave fuel in it so that it can be moved !
So I filled it with fuel and am going to swan around Brizvagas in it tomorrow...dads revenge. No blonde beside me, I shouldnt look that silly :))
Hope no young blokes want a drag, I dont know the hand signals for "grow up ya idiot" :)))))))
Wife asked me to check her tyres, she hadn't had em done and the tyres felt "funny". YIKES, less than 20 on 2 tyres. She got a lecture and I now check tyres, water and oil on her machine whenever I can.

Sometimes its easier to say nothing than lay the platform for an engagement in battle.

But hell its fun firing them UP sometimes LOL.

Axle

I have three kids, they each have a car. #1 son wanted to know if you change oil every 6 months or every 12 months!

#2 son came up last weekend with his car covered in bush fire ash, I washed that off then checked under the hood. Oil low, no water in radiator overflow tank. Sorry dad didn't know it had to have water, and I cheked the oil about a month ago!

Daughter rang 2 weeks ago and said "paul wanted to know when I changed the oil last." Dad are we suppose to change it?

Dad is going to rip their ears off. They obviously don't use the buggers. I have told them about three times in the past two years what to check and when to check GGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Axle you've got it easy my son

Regards Bob

I keep my missus' car on the road, check fluid levels, tyres, do all servicing etc. Yet I still seem to get lectured because I haven't done the dishes or MY shed is messy! Make sense from that.

Daughter in UK had VW Passat. Started making a funny noise so took it into garage. Idot on duty checked oil and said -"You have too much oil" so he drained some out and told her to go on her way.

Next day engine put piston through block. Water in the oil due to blown head gasket!!!!

About 2 months ago I bought a 93 Camry as a second car. The 18 yr old daughter has just got her lisence and the Patrol was doing more than it needed to. That and I was haveing to ask permission to drive MY car.

Anyway, I got a phone call at work. Daaad.... the tyre has gone flat....cna you come and help me. Ok I thought how did that happen.

So I get the crew together and we jump in the Big Red Truck to go and check out the problem. She had turned left at an intersection and while trying to catch her ice cream hit the curb. She had buckled the wheel and torn a hole in the side of the tyre.

Well we had to fit the spare so with the guys looking on I gave instructions while SHE got the jack and the spare out of hte boot, jacked up the car changed the wheel and packed it all up. Next day she paid for a replacement. No anger or telling her how silly she was just making her fix it in front of Dad's mates.

Next day I got a call from her mates mum. "You mean thing making her do that in fromt of the guys from work." My daughter told me all about it she said. "I'll be she learnt that lesson."

I hope so. This time it was only a tyre it could well have been another car or even a pedestrian.

Round 18/20 yrs ago we bought a 2nd hand datsun bluebird station wagon for the beloved wife to drive to work ect , was deemed a wagon was needed so that she could take the dog [rottweiler] to the park ect , I go and buy car , 7mths later engine blows , my fault she cries ,why ask I , "I hate the brown colour so never ever lifted the bonnet to do oil or water checks so its all your fault !! " ,, moral of the story ,never ever buy a car without checking the most important criteria ,COLOUR ,[red ones go faster so the beloved tells me]
