Howies Windscreens in Kalumunda Rd
Guildford. They do all of our earthmoving equipment. Top job done in the "specal (nudge nudge wink wink) earthmoving" tint.

I had that 3M film put on my troopie 15 years ago. It came with a 10 year guarantee and it only started beginning this year to lift off in
places. The truck is getting too long in the tooth to worry much about the few elongated bubbles and I think I get still a few more years out of the film before it gets too unsightly.
I recon I got my moneys worth of window tinting, its not just the outfit doing the job its also the material they're using.

I had 3m on
mine too- not long ago it started flaking metallic dust off it. 10 years later I got a warranty job on it at Tint a Car in Vic
Park.
They had to unload about 200kg of
camping crap from my boot to apply the tint to the back windows, and they didnt complain or charge more or anything. All my family's cars have been done by them too over the years and no dramas.

tinting lessens the amount of solar heat gains alright.
but it does increase thermal heat gains

As Tim the Toolman would say, "Eerrhhh"????? Doesn't thermal mean heat, therefore you are saying it increases heat heat gains??????

no thermal doesnt mean heat
and yes to the last part of your question.
glass conducts heat..the darker the glass, the more heat the glass absorbs.... and releases it from the known fact that heat flows from hot to cool ....."thermal heat gains"
so the darker the glass the more heat it will absorb and release....

We had our the windows on our 100series done by Tint-a-Car in Myaree. They put it the secure tint (not much more cost than normal tint) and did a terrific job.

My Brother had his car done By TKO in Victoria
Park $220 using desert smoke film
I had all my cabin windows retinted buy them as
well, remove Old film and apply new Film for $275.
Chits all over tint a car’s prices.
Some of there work is on Show car's I think so they have some dark films, but they are not all legal, if you are worried about that side of thing 35% is the lowest you can go legally.

Go to DMS Energy in Osborne
Park. They are the WA distributor for 3M products which as far as I am concerned is the only tint film to use because it is an excellent product backed by a 10 year guarantee on the product and the labour to replace it if any faults occur. 3M are the only tint manufacturer to quote figures re UV reduction, heat reduction, etc and DMS have been their agent for about 35 years (formerly DM Supplies) My Patrol cost about $400.00 and if you are an RAC member you get $50.00 discount. I have the black colour tint with metallic content which is the darkest legal tint they have and is a bit more expensive but it outperforms the others in extreme conditions such as up North. You may have to wait a while to get a booking because they don't do rush jobs and only book in the amount of work their installer can handle per day and still do the job to their standards. If you want illegal dark tint below 35% light transmission don't go there because they will refuse to install anything illegal stating they are then liable.
