Hi all,
I'm in the process of adding a car stereo to my Jayco Eagle windup camper.
Im thinking about mounting one speaker inside and having a portable speaker on the outside - maybe hanging from a bracket on the side.
Has anyone had any experience mounting a car stereo in Jayco's. Is there anything i should be considering, any tricks or tips.
Any advice appreciated
Cheers.
Gav

Gav, I think I'd like 2 speakers inside and out, just so you get both channels of sound... 4 reasonable quality 4" speakers shouldn't set you back too much, mount 2 on a board for outside and see what you can come up with inside...

Was thinking of putting in a stereo in the CT once, but didn't like the power draw ? Got figures of between 2 - 5A !!
Would like one that drew only 1/2 an amp though !!

Gronk/Anyone
i will only use it when its on mains power - thru the 12v transformer in the Jayco.
i dont have a battery in my jayco (and prob never will)
are you saying the draw of a car stereo is too much for the transformer? or you were looking for something that drew less to save on
battery power?
Thanx

Yeh Gav, I was looking for a unit that I could use when
camping at unpowered sites, so a current draw of less than 1/2Amp would have been good.
Looked at running an ipod off the CT batts but got too complicated ( adding speakers, power supply etc )
So I just put up with the sound of the birds !!!

Most car stereos run 4 speakers, 2 in front, 2 in rear, so you could have your 2 inside and 2 outside.
I mounted my unit just above where the Setec unit is, under the
seat to the left of the fridge, and put the speakers under the front bench
seat.
