Hi Members,
I have just finalised the first of the new image uploader controls. This new control should accept any size image you throw at it. I have only released this currently in the Members
My Home - My Rig page so if you can please test the uploader and report any problems.
NOTE: You can change the image description at any time and this will not effect the image loaded in the system.
NOTE: The image system on ExplorOz will now only support output of jpg images so animated gifs will be transformed into static jpg. If you have an animated gif image then please do not go into the My Rig page as the system will transfer as soon as you load the page.
NOTE: You can upload any supported image format .png, .gif, .jpg and the system will do the required conversions.
NOTE: If you resize your image down before upload it will make the transfer faster. The My Rig system now uses images up to a max dimensions of 800 pixels.
Good luck and let me know of any problems
BTW: I have not updated all the associated pages that display the Rig pics yet however this will be starting soon so you may only see smaller images on some screens until I have completed the remainder of the updates.

Just updated the
forum to use a new utility that will now enlarge the Rig1 pic directly when you click on it. So to view the Rig & Profile page you need to click on the link called Members Rig & Profile.
It is a subtle change however makes much better use of system resources and will allow for larger pop up
views of the pictures. It also fixes the errors created during file transfer that we had in the past.
Thanks for trying it all out - It will only get better from here.

I just noticed guys that you do not have a description attached to your image - is this on purpose or was there an error when you updated the images. You can add the description without re-loading the image now so please just add one of maybe where the image was taken or something..... If it was a problem/error then please let me know.

Sorry David,
I've not reloaded
mine as yet. A computer problem, dam USB port isn't functioning. I have descriptions on my images but don't on this one for some reason - maybe this was not available or obvious when I loaded it.
Kind regards

Errol,
You need to go into
My Home - My Rig - I noticed you have not done this yet as the image has not updated to the new code. Just go to this page and type the descriptions in the box near the end of the page.

It works but on dial-up it is a tad slow. I will stick to the old true and tried method by resizing the pics first.
Cheers

Yes it is slow and the reason I mentioned to resize to 800 max if you are able to do so prior to upload. Thanks for the testing Willem and nice pic did it last long? I would not have thought it would have worked at all!

The plugs only worked for a very short time as the cut became bigger. So the tyre has been discarded with around 20,000km of wear on it.

Hi David
I tried to change my rig pic, but it wouldn't replace pic 1 with a new pic. So I deleted pic 1, now it still won't load new pic - so I guess I don't have a rig pic now, unless it's a problem with the server? I tried resizing first, but no good either.
Cheers
John

John,
Not sure what happened with this on - the database says there should be an image however it does not exist. I removed the database field so the record is again cleaned up - please try reloading your pic1 again. Your Pic2 is fine so I am not sure what happened. Let me know if you have any more problems with this.

Hi David
It worked that time. Maybe I should have deleted the old pic before trying to upload a new one?
Cheers
